Who is he?

Marcaroni is an ageless mythical character in the same vein as Father Christmas or the Tooth Fairy. He's the composer of all children's songs. He lives in an old Clock Tower - and spends his days composing brand new songs for little children.

Marcaroni's Friends

Oli Odl - Marcaroni's great friend - visits the Clock Tower every day. She's the rhyme to his tune. Between the two of them, and with the help of two fairies aptly named Doh and Re, there's a brand new song in each episode!

Why are nursery rhymes important for child development?

Research has shown that the nursery rhyme tradition has lost ground  - for many reasons. Pop music and the media generally have a huge influence and some parents feel, apparently, that traditional nursery rhymes are old fashioned and inappropriate.
